Ronald Joe Cartwright, 53, of Terre Haute passed away in peace early Sunday morning in Westridge Rehabilitation Center. "Ronnie Joe" was born Jan. 12, 1952, in Terre Haute. He was the middle child of three born to Joseph "Louie" Cartwright and Ruby Travelstead Cartwright. He worked his whole life in the retail grocery industry. He was a loyal manager of Page's Market, Inc. for more than 23 years and before that, at Great Scot. He was a member of Union Christian Church. He had a love for auto racing, working at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway part-time during all the races. He was a member of a bowling league at Brazil Lanes. He loved sports, a die-hard Colts, Pacers, St. Louis Cardinals and Jeff Gordon fan and playing poker with his buddies. His smile, laughter, and wit will be missed more than words can be written. We love you, Ron. Survivors include his only son, Jonathan Cartwright and his wife, Davida of Terre Haute; his baby sister, Debra Cartwright of Terre Haute; big brother, Gordon Stoneking of Daytona, Fla.; stepmother, Patt Cartwright of Terre Haute; two grandsons, Samuel and Craig Cartwright of Terre Haute; two nephews, Cody and Brandon Swart of Terre Haute; lifelong friends, Dennis, Stubby, Mark, Roy, Gene, Rusty, Kim, David, Keith, Brent, Terry and Rocky; the Page family and all the employees that he considered his extended family that were so dear to him; and many other friends and relatives that all loved him so dearly. His parents preceded him in death. Friends and relatives are invited to a Celebration of Life memorial service at 4 p.m. Saturday in Union Christian Church, with Mark Grayless officiating. Visitation is 3 p.m. to services. Thomas Funeral Home assisted with arrangements. |
